Mater Dei Catholic Parish serves the Port Elizabeth communities of Newton Park, Glenhurd, Sunridge Park, Cotswold, Mill Park and surrounding areas.
Our beautiful church was consecrated for worship and dedicated to the Mother of God on 1 May 1948 by the Apostolic Delegate, Archbishop M. Lucas.
Today the Parish is home to just over 1000 parishioners and strives to be a vibrant, welcoming, Christian community, at home in Christ.
It is our mission to make visible the presence of the Risen Lord in our community through vibrant liturgical celebrations, dynamic catechetical programmes, opportunities for personal and communal spiritual reflection in Small Christian Communities, and a variety of outreach programmes.
